Re: [bluetooth-dev] BT connection problem using ericsson BT mod

Hi Calvin Tsang,

If you are using serial port with Sigma Comtec's Ericsson Module you can
give power supply using USB. Just remove jumper between pin 8 and 10. Now
you can use Serial Interface. When I tried in the same way I am able to
execute the ReadBD Command.

Pl let me know what we have to do when we use HCI emulation using NULL modem

I observed the following when I used HCI emulation. ( I made necessary
changes in btconfig.h )

On Client
---------.
> readbd
 Current bd addr : 00:00:00:00:00:00
> con 11:22:33:44:55:66 0 ( I know here BdAddress is
insignificant)
 Connecting to bd: 11:22:33:44:55:66
  using profile: 0
(Holding state )

When I saw the Archieve I found that you also faced the same problem pl let
me know how we can over come this.

Srinivas Chervirala

Hi Chan yi,

I'm doing almost the same thing as you, but first
of all, are you using serial port or the USB port to
connect with the Ericsson chip ?

I've tried to use the serial port but it seems
not working at all as when I entered "readbd" on the
client, it replied 00:00:00:00:00:00. I have also
tried to test the chip with minicom but it seems not
working neither, so I suspect it may be because of the
power supply. I think the serial port doesn't provide
power whereas the USB does, am I right ??

So if we are using the USB port as the linkage
between the stack and the hardware, what do I have to
do ? Can anyone tell me the different (In terms of
configuring procedures) between using a serial cable
and the ericsson kit ? I have used the Axis stack
without the chip through a serial cable and it worked
fine. I know I have to modifify the btconfig.h file
but what else ?

Any help would be appreciated !

Best Regards,
Calvin Tsang
