I don't see "--hwinit none" on the server command line.  also, which 
version of the stack are you
using?  With the November 2000 release, "--hwinit none" works but you 
have to edit btconfig.h
and make sure "HCI_EMULATION" is defined when using a null modem cable. 
With the January 2001 stack, the "--hwinit"
is removed and your hardware binding is listed in btconfig.h along with 
the HCI_EMULATION flag.
