"discarding 12 bytes" sounds like the Casira is using BCSP.
You can either configure the Casira to use H4 instead of BCSP,
or configure OpenBT to use BCSP (it is not as well tested as
H4, though). Also, make sure you use btdm from the experimental
directory instead of btd from the btd directory. Also note that
btduser does not support BCSP.
