The internal registers are not available from userspace
(I don't think you can find any platform with a MMU
that lets you tamper with hardware registers directly).
If you need to access the registers you should do it
from kernel space e.g. from a device driver.

Under Elinux on the old Etrax 100 you could simply do
"*R_PAR0_CTRL_DATA = .." to change, in this case par0,
to something from a program. 
How do I do the same with Linux on the Etrax 100LX?
With the same code, I get a seg fault.
