Accessing the EEPROM

Hi all,

I have again a simple question: How can we use the EEPROM in the Axis
ETRAX LX developer board? I know it is in /dev/eeprom, but it is mapped as
a read-only file.
How can we write to it?
Do we need to erase it completely before?
How we do this?
