What are you trying to do here ? You should not put a filesystem on the raw 
HD device... it should be on a partition.

The kernel should not oops of course anyway, but you could try putting the 
filesystem on a partition like /dev/hda1 instead.

I'll see if I find anything interesting in the oops in combination with the 
System.map anyway.
