A MCM with no external memories is as fast as a developer board.

>What custom hardware?

The devboard (and MCM) have 16-bit memories. With 32-bit memories
you get the higher transfer rates.

I don't know.

|Hi,

|On a standard developer board with 2.4.19 and with
|CONFIG_ETRAX_SERIAL_FAST_DMA_FLUSH (or similar) disabled
|you should reach approx 4 MByte/sec for receive and
|3 MByte/sec for transmit.
What about the MCM chip?

|With custom hardware you can
|reach 5 MByte/sec for receive and 4 for transmit.
What custom hardware?

What about response time, how fast is it possible to send 1kbyte
from a linux box to etrax and receiving 1kbyte back?
