RE: RS-422 Port as GPIO

The RS-422 uses asynchronous serial port 3. If this serial port 
is disabled in kernel configuration the pins are accessible as 
gpio at bit 30 and 31 in R_PORT_G_DATA. Refer to section 20.9.3 
(page 12) in the Electrical Information PDF.

Is there any way to use any of the RS-422 pins as GPIO pins?  According
to the circuit diagram for the port, pins 1-4 are AC/GND and 5-8 are
RX/TX.  Can I access those RX/TX pins directly?  I can't seem to find
the information in the Electrical Information PDF.
