The flash2 partition is 128kB in your example, not 2MB.
You need a larger flash to get a larger kernel partition. 
The devboard_82 has 6 MB of flash and thus plenty of space
for your own applications. Another way may be to replace 
glibc with a smaller lib such as uclibc. I'm not sure
if we support external developers using other libraries
than glibc.
