We had a similar problem using /dev/ttyS0, in our case was caused by the console an the
kernel log messages.
I do not remember now, but I think that we
commented the console lines in /etc/inittab and
/etc/syslog.conf

Hi,
I have a problem with the developer
board's serial port. I'm trying to connect a serial modem in the
developer board. I did a program to use the serial port in linux, I tried my
program in a PC whit mandrake 10 and it work well. I compiled the same program
with criss and I upload to the board, and the program don't work. I
was doing some test with the devboard`s serial port but I could not to do that
it work. I was looking for an idea in the list history, but I didnt find
it.
Can someboby help me?
