Thanks. You pointed me in the right direction. The patch described below
didn't make sense with the kernel I am using but by importing newer versions
(the tag on handhelds.org is K2_4_3-rmk2-np1-hh3) of (architecture specific
files) fault-armv.c and fault-common.c, I have a kernel and jffs2 module
which seems to give me a JFFS2 filesystem that works.
