Flash erase error



Hi,

I'm new to this JFFS list but have been using Axis for a couple of year.
This error message occured on one of our units and since i'm not knowing much about the JFFS i post it here right away.

The unit had been running for half an hour when this printout occured on the debug serial port:

Axis flash: waiting for erase to complete timed out.
flash: erase of region [0x70000, 0x80000] totally failed
JFFS: Erase of flash failed. offset = 458752, erase_size = 65536
JFFS: Error in garbage collector: -1.
Axis flash: write to 0x41f0054 failed. datum = 3931, verify = 68
Didn't write all bytes in flash_safe_writev(). Returned -5
JFFS: jffs_write_node: Failed to write, requested 72, wrote 1
Axis flash: write to 0x41f009c failed. datum = 3931, verify = 28
Didn't write all bytes in flash_safe_writev(). Returned -5
JFFS: jffs_write_node: Failed to write, requested 72, wrote 1
Axis flash: write to 0x41f00e4 failed. datum = 3931, verify = 68

... address increasing for each message...

The unit was printing when i left for holiday last friday, but today in the morning the error was gone and the unit worked ok.
the problem hasn't occured since then.

What does the error mean???
What can have been wrong???
What "fixed" the problem??? (The last error printing is unfortunately missing - i removed the terminal when i went home...)

Is the error a big issue that we should be concerned about when shipping to customers...
